Derrick Feldmann is internationally recognized as a leading researcher and strategic advisor on philanthropy, social issues, public engagement, and movement-driven change.

For more than two decades, he has led large-scale research initiatives examining the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors that shape civic participation, public trust, and social action.

His insights inform foundations, family offices, corporations, nonprofits, and public institutions navigating complex social challenges. His work is widely cited as a trusted source of evidence on how individuals, communities, and companies engage in change.

Derrick produces, leads, and advises on dozens of research initiatives annually - guiding both public campaigns and private philanthropic strategy. His research has shaped global social issue campaigns, corporate marketing strategies, and philanthropic investment frameworks focused on mental health, climate, civic engagement, industry accountability, and systems change and more.

He is the author of three books: The Corporate Social Mind: How Companies Lead Social Change From the Inside Out (Fast Company Press), Social Movements for Good, and Cause for Change: The Why and How of Nonprofit Millennial Engagement. His leadership of the Millennial Impact Project in partnership with The Case Foundation produced the widely cited Millennial Impact Reports, advancing understanding of generational engagement in social issues.

Derrick serves as Managing Director of ISG, a research and advisory firm partnering with philanthropic and institutional leaders to align research, strategy, and capital. He also serves as Managing Director of the Ad Council Research Institute, where he oversees national public research studies on pressing social issues.

He is a Visiting Research Fellow and instructor at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship’s Impact Lab at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, former Chair of the Board of Visitors at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, and a member of the Ad Council Advisory Committee.
